Warranty terms effective from 5 April 2023
Warranty for Giant and Liv bicycles
Giant Polska warrants only the frames, rigid forks and original factory-fitted components of every new Giant/Liv bicycle against material and manufacturing defects under the terms below.
Lifetime warranty
For the first owner’s frame, except downhill models, provided the first inspection is completed by an authorised dealer within 3 months of purchase.
5-year warranty
For the frame and every subsequent owner for 5 years from the original purchase when the first inspection was not completed on time; downhill models excluded.
10-year warranty
For rigid forks.
3-year warranty
For frames of downhill models.
2-year warranty
For all remaining parts, except third-party components, suspension forks and rear shocks not owned by Giant/Liv; these are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty.
1-year warranty
For paintwork and graphics.
IMPORTANT: To qualify for the lifetime frame warranty, the first owner must have an authorised Giant/Liv dealer inspect the bicycle within 3 months of purchase and record it in the warranty card. Otherwise a five-year warranty applies.
01Claims procedure

Giant Polska replies to a claim within 14 days, stating whether it is accepted and explaining its decision. The customer may request repair or replacement.

Giant Polska may replace instead of repair, or repair instead of replace, when the requested solution is impossible or disproportionately costly.

All circumstances are considered when assessing excessive cost, including the defect, component value and inconvenience to the customer.

Defective components are repaired or replaced with defect-free parts of equal or higher value within up to 45 days. Giant Polska bears justified transport, labour and material costs.

The customer makes the component available; Giant Polska collects it at its own cost.

If installed before the defect appeared, the component is removed and refitted at Giant Polska’s cost.

The warranty always begins on the bicycle purchase date.
02Assembly requirements
The warranty covers only new bicycles and frames bought from, and prepared for use by, an authorised Giant/Liv dealer.
03Limitation of liability
The complete bicycle and its equipment are not subject to replacement or return.
04Warranty exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- normal wear of consumables without material or manufacturing defects;
- modifications to the original design;
- damage caused by failure to follow the manual;
- paint damage caused by extreme conditions;
- damage, accidents or injury arising from competitive sport;
- corrosion caused by improper care, use or storage;
- improper maintenance, assembly or product construction;
- damage to threaded connections.
05Loss of warranty
Warranty rights expire in these cases:
- expiry of the warranty period;
- an incomplete warranty card;
- repairs or modifications outside authorised Giant/Liv service centres;
- failure to follow the user manual, especially use and maintenance guidance;
- continued use of a defective or damaged bicycle.
06Other provisions
Claims must be submitted to an authorised Giant/Liv dealer with reliable proof of purchase and a correctly completed warranty card. Cross-border claims may involve fees or restrictions. This warranty does not limit statutory consumer rights.
07Bicycle registration
Register your Giant/Liv bicycle online on the relevant brand website for easy access to its data, service information, promotions and technical advice.
08Free Giant Assistance insurance
Claim free Giant Assistance cyclist insurance at giantassistance.pl or purchase a Giant Protect package.
IMPORTANT: Keep the receipt with the manual; it can help after theft or with an insurance claim.
09Frame serial number location
The serial number is under the down tube, on the bottom bracket shell or on the left rear dropout. It is required for registration and Giant Assistance.
